Academics at Valley Lutheran

Valley Lutheran has a tradition of strong academics in a college preparatory curriculum. The goal of our program is to prepare all students for success at the college of their choosing. Our history of excellent test scores demonstrates our commitment to providing VLHS students with the academic experience they will need to enjoy success after high school.

Valley Lutheran has been approved by the College Board to offer Advanced Placement classes. Students who successfully complete an Advanced Placement exam may earn college credit for that class. Current Advanced Placement offerings include: AP English Literature, AP U.S. History, AP Biology, AP Government, AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, AP English Language.

We also offer dual enrollment classes, allowing students to earn college credit for work completed on campus during high school, through Concordia University, Nebraska. Current dual enrollment offerings include AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC.

As part of our commitment to academics, Valley Lutheran is committed to small class sizes, which provide individual attention for all students. Our student to teacher ratio is 12:1, with an average class size of 14 students.
