Severely Outnumbered

This weekend I had the joy of joining my wife on her weekend tour. Mia has the opportunity to travel around the country with a group called Aspire Women's Event. She flies out every Thursday or Friday and comes back on Monday. I am actually writing today as I sit in the St. Louis airport waiting to fly back to Phoenix.

Helping out at a women's event left me severely outnumbered. There were two parts of the weekend that brought me real joy. The first was being able to help serve these women (while trying to stay invisible) as they enjoyed a wonderful night together. The second joy was being able to be there with my wife. We had a lot of time to spend together while working and driving from location to location. I also was able to observe how Mia, along with Melissa and Sally (the other women on the tour), ministered to the women who were able to attend. Seeing this is what makes her being gone every weekend worth it. I know she is being used by God to bring something special to all of these women every week.

This experience made me think of Psalm 98:4, "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music." There was a lot of singing, laughter, joy, conversation, learning, and even some crying that I was able to witness. But most of all I saw women in three different cities being built up in their faith and coming together to love and support each other. I am thankful for being able to be a small part of what my wife gets to do every weekend.

I think we all can relate to a feeling of sadness when something comes to an end. Sometimes it can even happen when we are just on the periphery as an observer and not really a part of it. I had this
