Mrs. Robin Larkin

¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español

That is a greeting you will only hear at Valley from Mrs. Robin Larkin, who teaches Spanish 1-4 and is also the Quiz Bowl Team coach. Now in her fourth year on the VLHS staff, she previously taught preschool, elementary and middle school Spanish for 15 years as well as middle school Language Arts, Art, and Handbells. As she reflects on this background, she says, “This year I am also teaching Spanish 2-4 as a Dual Credit course through Concordia University Nebraska, so technically I’ve taught courses from 3K to the college levels.”

Mrs. Larkin is originally from Wisconsin and attended college there at Concordia University. She and her husband, Aaron, love to hike, and she also has a passion for reading. Their daughter, Kiersten, is a junior at Valley.

What does she find particularly enjoyable about being a teacher here? She replies, “I love watching the students figure out who they are and whose they are (God’s children). It’s so humbling to watch a student choose their path in life and follow through on it.” A senior student commented, “Due to her I am able to be confident in my Spanish. And the Japan trip led by Mrs. Larkin in 2018 changed my life.”
